Alessandra Strong, also known as Cockroach Strong or Roach Strong is a Private Investigator in Hyperion City. She is a veteran of The War.
Early Life[]
Alessandra is a veteran of the War between the Solar Planets and the Outer Rim, who fought on the side of the Solar Military. An experience that clearly shaped her and that she occasionally still talks about. Once she sat in the same foxhole for three days without food.
After her return to Mars she signed up with the PI Registry and forgot about it until she was offered her first job. She was hired by a weatherman who was concerned with being replaced with an animatronic puppet. Since then she has been working as PI.
History[]
Alessandra ran into Juno Steel first on accident and then with significantly more intent during the Saffron Pharmaceuticals case. They had a brief thing going on, until Juno confessed still having feelings for someone else.
By the end of season 2 Alessandra is engaged to an unknown woman who had served with her in The War. Alessandra believed she had died, but she had been in a POW camp until very recently and when they reunited Alessandra realized she wanted to be with her.
Personality[]
Alessandra is a survivor. Having made terrible experiences during the war, she emerged from it not as a pessimist, but with a strong belief in her ability to carry on. She does not believe in happy endings, but happy middles.
Abilities[]
Alessandra's patience and strong endurance have helped her surviving the war and the PI business in Hyperion City.
According to Juno she is a good fighter and an excellent kisser.
Relationships[]
Juno Steel[]
Alessandra meets Juno during her investigations at Saffron Pharmaceuticals. Initially, they try to outsmart each other, but eventually start working together on the case. Their teamwork is great and there seems to be a mutual attraction. According to Juno Alessandra is a good fighter as well as a good kisser. However, when it becomes apparent that she wants something serious he realizes that there is somebody else who is still on his mind and declines. Alessandra is hurt but offers Juno the opportunity to get in touch if he is in trouble, which he eventually does.
During their next encounter in Juno Steel and the Promised Land (Part 1) it becomes apparent that they have very different ideas about life. Juno initially mocks Alessandra for her engagement and her belief in lasting relationships. She calls him out for this, explaining that both life and relationships are something you have to work on every day and that giving up on them is easier than keep going on. She does not take shit from Juno apparently.
Unnamed fiancee[]
She is a former prisoner of war who was recently released from captivity in the Outer Rim. According to Alessandra, she's not really nice but smart, tough, ambitious, very funny and pretty, which Alessandra likes about her. They united after the release, realized their feelings for each other, and became engaged. Alessandra states that they have a history together. It is clear that she means a lot to Alessandra, who gets very defensive when Juno mocks her for getting engaged.
Trivia[]
- In a Patreon Commentary the creators stated that Alessandra is a very practical character, and if she and Juno ever really started dating she would have dumped him.
- Harley Takagi Kaner also stated that Alessandra is attracted to ladies, which is why she was attracted to Juno in season 1.
