Blair Rockridge is a relatively wealthy individual who hired Private Investigator Perseus Shah to investigate after receiving a threatening letter from a thief eyeing her collection of jewels. She easily falls for his ploy as he pretends to deduce clues regarding the thievery, thus making her very easily manipulated. She ripped off a piece of priceless silk to give Shah, who bundled everything up, stating that a thief would probably take the bundle of stolen goods as he sauntered out with the stolen goods.
