Captain Hijikata used to be Captain of the One-Five-One precinct of the Hyperion City Police Department. She held this position before Omar Khan. She was also at one time Juno's intended mother-in-law.
History[]
Hijikata was involved in something that Khan refers to as "the case of the damn decade" in Juno Steel and the Stolen City (Part 1). During this case, Juno chose to forge evidence to prove Hijikata's guilt which lead to him leaving the HCPD and causes Khan to call him a "walking pile of nitroglycerin." It is hinted that this case might have been about "taking down someone really big" because Khan points out that Juno can't be trusted when it comes to such a case.
Juno lists "all that junk that happened in the HCPD with Diamond and Captain Hijikata..." among the worst things that happend in his life in Juno Steel and the Promised Land (Part 3). In Juno Steel and the Time Gone By (Part 2) Juno describes Captain Hijikata's style of leadership as one that "would make you destroy yourself."
In Juno Steel and the Embrace of Ice (Part 1), it is revealed that Captain Hijikata is Diamond's mother and a corrupt cop deep in organized crime, using her position as captain of the precinct to alter police schedules, placing other bad cops on duty when a crime needed to be ignored for large sums of money. In the end, Juno falsifies evidence to try to bust her, and Hijikata has him removed from the force without charges--as a last favor.
Relationships[]
Diamond[]
Hijikata's daughter and "Glitter Girl," as she calls her. They seem to have a somewhat tense relationship, with Diamond making efforts to rebel against her position as the precinct captain's daughter and purposefully befriending likely arrestees. However, Hijikata is fiercely dedicated to her, supplying money for Diamond's extravagant lifestyle and telling Juno that she had "never thought anybody would be good enough for [Diamond]" until him in Juno Steel and the Embrace of Ice (Part 1).
Juno Steel[]
Juno is Hijikata's ex future son-in-law and suboordinate. In Juno Steel and the Embrace of Ice (Part 1), she expresses trust in him over other precinct members when choosing him to be her successor as captain, though it is unclear whether this expressed trust is a facade.
