Croesus Kanagawa was the father of Cassandra and Cecil Kanagawa, the husband of Min Kanagawa, and the head of the Kanagawa Corporation. He moonlighted as a crime boss but was said to have gone soft in his later years.
Early Life[]
It is unknown whether Kanagawa Productions existed before him, or if he was the first person in his family to go into show business.
At some point, he married his first wife, and they had twins Cassandra and Cecil. His wife later disappeared, and he married Min Kanagawa.
Years after this, he presumably hired Juno Steel to find his son Cecil after he was kidnapped by mobsters. It is unknown whether Cecil had revealed to his father he set up his own kidnapping before he went through with it.
It is implied Croesus got angry with Juno because Cecil lost his arm before Juno could save him, but they remained on speaking terms for some time despite this. Juno later inadvertently gave him the idea to go out into the desert, dig a really deep hole, and bury himself in it, the result of which was the excavation of the Death Mask of Grimpotheuthis.
Sometime after this, Croesus and Juno had a fight the full nature of which is unknown, and Croesus threatened to kill him if he ever set foot in his house again.
Death[]
Shortly before his death, he promised his daughter Cassandra he would finally produce her documentary series about life all across the galaxy. His wife Min was unsatisfied with this and planted a schedule on Cassandra's set that made her believe he'd gone back on his word.
The night Cassandra went to confront her father happened to be the same night Peter Nureyev broke into the Kanagawa Mansion to steal the Death Mask of Grimpotheuthis for Miasma. He hid when Croesus came back into his office but did not manage to close the mask's case, which caused Croesus to panic. When Cassandra came into the room Croesus wouldn't pay any attention to what she was saying, only caring about how someone could have opened the case without him. This frustrated Cassandra so much that she pushed him, not noticing that the case was open behind him. The mask closed around his head and separated it into three pieces, killing him.
