Helicoid monitors Fort Terminus and oversees the crimes of monsters throughout the land of the Second Citadel. He acts as a mediator and judge towards all monsters, and is frequently referred to as "your Circuitousness" or "your Horror".

Although initially believed to be the Spiral Sage, it is revealed that he has been imitating the actual Spiral Sage, a long-dead being of near-infinite power so that all monsters would listen to him to without question. He acts in an incredibly pompous and performative manner to distract people from his true nature. Although he claims that the universe has placed him at Fort Terminus, the Senate assigned him to guard the camp.

Despite the fact that he insists that he is a snail, Talfryn accused him of being a sea slug, as upon being sprayed with fresh water, his body began to swell.

History

During the events of the Spiral Sage, Judge Helicoid oversaw the trial of Lord Arum and judged his crimes against monsterkind. Arum was found guilty of treason and sentenced to Fort Terminus, intending to have him throw him over the edge of the world.

Abilities

Being a giant gastropod, Judge Helicoid has incredibly sticky mucus and can trap people with it by spitting it at them. Additionally, he has the ability to create smaller blobs of sentient mucus as "bailiffs" to do his bidding, though the intelligence of these bailiffs are quite limited.
