—Julian DiMaggio[src]
Julian DiMaggio, also known as The Saffron Prince of Mars, is a business mogul who runs the pharmaceutical company Saffron Pharmaceuticals with his husband, Anthony DiMaggio. He hired Juno Steel to track down his husband after he disappeared during the events of Juno Steel and the Prince of Mars.
Early Life[]
Julian used to be a barista at a coffeehouse. Juno Steel knew him at this point in his life and cleared him of suspicion for an unspecified murder that Julian did not commit.
Some time after that, Julian founded Saffron Pharmaceuticals and sold beauty and other health-improvement products that he advertised as "ancient Martian solutions," pretending to be an ancient Martian himself. Julian quickly became a star, appearing on many billboards and advertisements and being lauded as "the Saffron Prince of Mars."
While digging the foundation for his new factory, Julian managed to obtain an ancient Martian pill that was believed to potentially enable the user to read minds. Anthony and Julian disagreed on how to use it—Anthony wanted it to be locked away or destroyed, Julian wanted to mass produce and sell it.
History[]
At some point after the discovery of the Ancient Martian pill, Anthony goes missing for a few days.Through a biological monitor, Julian is able to notice his husband's heartbeat accelerating at various intervals. Suspecting adultery, Julian hires Juno to search for his husband.[1] However, during Juno's investigation, Anthony is teleported into Julian's bedroom with a knife in his back, and Julian is arrested for his husband's murder. After he is arrested and taken to Hoosegow, he is questioned by Juno and Rita about possible motives and culprits for the murder. Julian eventually shows them the Martian pill and informs them that he also told Doctor Lillian Strauss about it. Juno takes possession of the pill and leaves for further investigation.
It is uncovered that someone had kidnapped Anthony for the pill. When he refused to say anything, they used Ancient Martian teleporters to teleport Anthony into Julian's home. As a result of this information, Julian is moved to house arrest and is presumably later released fully, as Rita hacks the District Attorney's email and finds that even he does not expect the case against Julian to convict him.
Following the election of Ramses O'Flaherty, Juno learns that Saffron Pharmaceuticals has been bought by Northstar Entertainment.[2]

Notes and Trivia[]
- Julian's concept seems to be based around the concept of overly-sexualized mascots. In a Q&A session, Harley Takagi Kaner discussed how ridiculous it was for people to be sexualized in order to sell butter.[citation needed]
