Episode Summary[]

Sasha Wire, Director of Dark Matters, has her agents searching the Carte Blanche and interrogating the Aurinko Crime Family. She made a plan that includes manipulating Juno to help her finding the other Class-X-radical, aside from the Curemother Prime, hidden on the ship. She tells Juno that someone aboard the ship has sent a distress signal to Dark Matters and that there must be a traitor among his family. Afterwards she offers him to help her in her investigation in exchange for not torturing Buddy, Vespa, Jet and Rita. Peter is missing and the agents seem unable to find him.

Sasha has Juno with her as she interrogates Buddy, who seems frantic but trying to keep it together. Buddy talks nonstop and seemingly nonsensical, suggesting that Rita was the one who send the signal to Dark Matters. She also confronts Sasha for boarding the ship with a team of rookies, since she disposes of many of her subordinates, like she did with Agent G. Further, one rookie agent with the number 8, whom Buddy calls “Agent Late”, tried to force feed her food and she is asking for Vespa to perform a surgery in order to avoid her digestive system from exploding. Sasha refuses the request recognizing a scheme but also does not get any further in her investigation. Juno points out that she looks tired and did a poor job at the interrogation. He suggests that they might be at the same side after all and appeals to her to work together. In her internal monologue she reveals this to be part of her strategy to lure Juno into helping her solve this case. She offers him to send Buddy what she actually needs to help her stomach issue. Juno asks her to send nail polish remover which Sasha does.

Further, she gives him the backstory of the Curemother Prime to show Juno the scope of a class-X-radical. She does not reveal what the second one on the ship might be though she calls it an “it”. She and Dark Matters apparently knew about Juno’s experience with the Martian pill (itself a class-B radical) and that he was lucky to get rid of the growth before they visited him.

They continue the investigation. Vespa and Jet are both hostile during their interrogation. Vespa seems especially angry when Juno asks her about the distress signal. She yells at him, that he just wants her to tell him that it was his boyfriend Ransom who betrayed them, but that Ransom would be way to irritable to work with Dark Matters. Sasha seems pleased about the conflict and surprised that Jet and Vespa have not killed Juno yet.

Finally, Juno interrogates Rita, who is, according to herself, covered in "Liquorice Squid snack powder, tears and boogers". They discuss where Peter might have gone and whether he might have betrayed them, since he left even before Sasha appeared. But Juno assures Rita that he does not think so and that Peter might just be ready to disappear anytime. While Juno questions Rita, Sasha reveals that she plans to use Rita to pressure Juno and that she might shoot her to raise the pressure. But Juno, Rita and their family have their own plans. While Jet is causing a distraction, Buddy uses the nail polish remover to create an explosion and Juno and Rita pin Sasha down with the knife Rita got from Vespa.

Sasha recalls the event that lead up to this and realizes that she underestimated Juno’s bond with his found family, as well as the growth he has gone through during the last two years. She expects for the Aurinkos to kill her. But Juno gives her a look that makes Sasha believe that she is still family to him and declares that since she doesn’t pose a threat she will not be harmed.

Quotes[]

JUNO: Yeah, well, you haven’t given me a hell of a lot of reason to see, all right? You show up here, you shoot me, and then you lock up my goddamn family, and even after you got everything you wanted, you’re still... here! Interrogating me!
SASHA: That’s an interesting choice of word.
JUNO: So is this not an interrogation then?
SASHA: No, no; this is very much an interrogation. I meant “family.” Aurinko’s term, I imagine?
SASHA: My sleeping schedules are classified. And I see no mess.
JUNO: What are you talking about? You let Buddy walk all over you!
SASHA: I don’t need your help, Juno.
JUNO: Apparently you do, because it’s getting harder by the second for me to tell what you’re even looking for. And an interrogation without a point isn’t an interrogation, it’s a family dinner.
JUNO: Look, you’re not getting any sympathy out of me.
SASHA: I don’t expect any.
JUNO: But... I believe you. Okay? I believe that you don’t want to sicc your specialists on these people, and I believe you think you’re doing the right thing. I don’t agree, but I believe you’re being honest.
SASHA: What does that matter?
JUNO: Because maybe only on that level, we’re on the same side, actually. We don’t want these people to get more hurt than they have to. And if that’s what you really want, Wire, you gotta meet me halfway, here.

JET: We do not have time to argue. If you want to keep your friend alive, Juno, you must tell us how you plan to neutralize her as a threat now.
SASHA: This is a stupid move to make, Juno. Why do you think I want your pity?
VESPA: Y’know, I agree with Supercop. What the hell are you thinking?
