Episode Summary[]
On his search for Peter Nureyev, Juno Steel, following the Ruby Seven's lead, finds himself in the city of Lono. But with no creds to his name, he turns to Cassandra Kanagawa for help. Despite recently achieving her dream of running her Other Lives stream series, Cassandra has no money to offer as she'd been cut off by her family and instead offers Juno a job with producer Warner Jayne, who's got a "thief problem."
Upon meeting Juno, Warner further explains that the thief has left a calling-card, announcing the theft of the PrismaCrystal Chimes, a crucial part of Warner's vision for the play Freedom in Chains, to be on opening night. Juno then meets with the production's director Billie Dalton. As Billie introduces Juno to Carrie Gold and Clotilda Fairborough, who play the Baroness and Freedom respectively in Freedom in Chains, underlying tension between the cast and its risk of jeopardizing the play unfold.
Carrie leads Juno to the safe in which the PrismaCrystal Chimes will be kept until they're brought out on stage. Juno, noting that "there isn't a lock in the entire galaxy that can keep a thief out for good," decides to spend the night guarding the safe. Lost in thought while on guard duty, Juno's ambushed by the thief with a blaster and chases them through the building. He isn't able to catch them but finds a pawn shop ticket they dropped that narrows his list of suspects to the director and two actors of Freedom in Chains.
