Maia King is a high profile real estate lawyer who worked on the case against Babbling Brook Realty after they began selling apartments with their tenants still in them. Her cat, Pippa, is the light of her life.
Babbling Brook Realty hired Doctor Monrovian to create a genetic duplicate of Pippa and insert a bomb into the stomach of the duplicate. They hired The Piranha to push Monrovian and Bosco around and to switch out the two cats so that Maia King would be out of the way.

She goes to Juno Steel with the case of her cat not being her cat, as he is the nearest private detective agency to her.
