Mars is the fourth planet from the sun in the Solar System, and primarily a desert. It was the first planet humanity colonized.

Home to Juno Steel and the primary setting of the Juno Steel series.

History[]

Mars was inhabited by a race of telepathic, tentacled beings that resembled "large germs". These Ancient Martians reproduced asexually by splitting in two, implying they were all genetically identical. They built compounds deep underground, decorating the walls with glowing hieroglyphics, and leaving items within such as the Throne of Architeuthis, the Death Mask of Grimpoteuthis, and the Egg of Puris. They also developed drugs to enhance the telepathic abilities of those who needed it. Eventually the Martians used the Egg to wipe out their entire species, leaving behind only their artifacts and the barest traces of their DNA.

Eventually humanity established their first colony on Mars; Hyperion, the city of first light. They built more cities in places that were suitable for their protective domes, and a lighthouse in the Cerberus Province to keep ships from landing in its many volcanoes.

During the Galactic Civil War, Mars opened munitions factories in Oldtown. At its start, Erin Marshall D'arc lost faith in humanity and attempted to start her own utopia out in the desert.

  • Death Millipedes (extinct)
  • Peepers - a protected species native to the northern deserts. Large, subterranean predators with sensory organs that resemble small rodents.
