The Penumbra Podcast Wiki

Melee is a genius engineer who lived on Vivopolis and was a significant face in the community there. She helps Juno Steel and Peter Nureyev escape from The Executives, before leaving them both behind to help free her people.

Early Life[]

When Melee was just a baby, she was left behind in the home of someone who owed her father money for an engineering job. When her father came to pick up payment, he took her in and raised her, teaching her all the engineering she knows. When Melee was 14, her father got caught up with the wrong people, who went after Melee. He protected her and ended up shot in the head. After this, Melee started working for the Dokana Group on Vivopolis in return for her fathers care. She had been scavenging on the trash asteroid for ten years, and helped fix up several machines to help the infrastructure of the town. She fixed up an organic-matter-reconstituter, a machine that makes their recycled water into tea, and a machine that turns old leather into jerky.

History[]

Melee helps Juno and Nureyev escape from the cell they were taken to after the Dokana Group captured them. She sneaks them into a maintenence tunnel just in time to avoid The Executives, and brings them to Vivopolis, a settlement full of people working for the Dokana Group to support their near-dead loved ones. She tells Juno and Nureyev that she wants them to help people leave Vivopolis. When the LifeUp project is announced, she goes to try and find her father at the gates.

Personality[]

Melee is practical, but still a bleeding heart. She just wants to do the right thing. She has fire in her eyes and a strong sense of justice. She calls Juno an old-timer.

Abilities[]

Melee is an incredibly skilled mechanical engineer and community organiser.

Relationships[]

Peter Nureyev[]

Melee is very sympathetic to Nureyev's situation, as she is going through it herself. They reach a quick understanding of each other.

Juno Steel[]

Juno thinks both Melee and Nureyev are naive for trying to resurrect their loved ones, but helps them all the same. Melee is willing to leave Juno behind with the Dokana group in order to help save her people.
