“ | You did not become a knight to kill, Lamorak. You know how to protect people. Maybe it’s time you looked at yourself with that Piercing Eye of yours. Goodbye, my love. |

—Posidonia[src]
Posidonia was the mermaid daughter of Mermother Amma, and loving wife to Sir Lamorak. She passed away when she left the water to be with Lamorak.
Early Life[]
Posidonia grew up in the Mermaid Tunnels with Amma, who was deeply affected by her loss. It is unknown when Lam and Posidonia met, but Amma describes him as being charming.[1] Her and Lamorak tried to have a child for a period of time, during which Lamorak lived in Silvershore and read up on the life cycles of mermaids.[2] They also got married. At some point, Posidonia decided to leave the water, presumably to learn more about the world above. Lam took her to the surface, despite suspecting that it would hurt her. She passed away in his arms, and leaves behind a pearl that allows the holder to breathe underwater and swim faster than any human. Her spirit also resides in this pearl, and can visit Lam in his dreams.
History[]
Lamorak is deeply heartbroken by his wife's death, having never fully moved on from it. Posidonia regularly visits him in his dreams, with a vision of their shack in Silvershore, but he never remembers when he wakes up. He keeps her pearl on him at all times, and is incredibly defensive of it. Mermother Amma, after her death, became enraged against all humans, blaming Lamorak for her death.
Personality[]
Posidonia was incredibly adventurous and playful person. During the dream sequence with Sir Lamorak, she splashes him with water playfully, jokes around, and teases him.
Abilities[]
Like all mermaids, Posidonia is "immortal-ish". Her age when meeting Lamorak is unknown. She would likely have grown to be as large as Amma given enough time.
Relationships[]
Sir Lamorak[]
They were happily married for an unknown period of time, and clearly loved each other a lot. Lamorak bases a lot of his life philosophy on what she would want him to do, and considers that the best version of himself.[3] After her death, Lamorak is incredibly sensitive about the subject of her death.
