Silvershore is a city in The Wayward East which is inhabited by humans and monsters living together in peace. It has immaculate stonework[1] and many canals that snake through the streets, some of which connect to the City Beneath.[2]
Accessibility is a large focus in Silvershore- with many types of monsters, there are many ways of getting around. An example of this is the W.E.P Clocktower stairway, which has a ramp, a large stairway, and a small stairway.[3] There are also high up doors on buildings for winged monsters, and entire buildings built for termite-monsters. The primary form of public transport is giant crabs with painted shells.[4] Their main industry is entertainment, headed by Wayward East Press.
History[]
Silvershore was built thousands of years ago following the Off-Worlders' attack on the Verdant East. The jellyfish Enoch supposedly helped design some of the buildings.[5] It was built around the protective spirit of Silvershore, a baby made of crystal kept in the W.E.P Clocktower.
Silvershore is apparently a fairytale told to young monsters in The Northern Wilds.[6]
Landscape[]
Surrounding Silvershore is a freshwater sea containing the City Beneath, and on the shores are a silver metal that originated off the edge of the world and contains anti-magical properties.[5] Denizens of the City Beneath have evolved to resist these anti-magical properties, and still rely on their magic to survive in the freshwater sea. Anti-magical stone can be poisonous or even deadly to monsters.[7]
Locations[]
W.E.P Clocktower[]

The inside the W.E.P Clocktower
Art by Milo Mars
A clocktower with a market at the base that is relatively central in Silvershore. It is the tallest building in the city, and a historical landmark. Cobbleston the Guardgoyle is head of security there, protecting the many impossible storage rooms full of books.[8] Every hour, its bell rings incredibly loudly, which can be heard over long distances and even from the Mirrored Plains. It contains the storage room for the Protective Spirit of Silvershore, which is an impossible storage room with broken crystals on the floor.
One of the many sources of entertainment in Silvershore is theatre, and some shows are played in the ground floor of the clocktower. Multiple plays are available, including "The Tragedy of Fahrengeist, Last of the Bone-Dragons", and "Clashing Duelists", which is "a reenactment of an innocent chimera’s death at the blade of a murdering knight" featuring a chimera as an actor for the knight. Tickets for this show are advertised as "free with a purchase of a small popcorn".
Clocktower Market Square[]
A central market in Silvershore. Sells a great many things. Contains Crickitilly's Lightly-Used Books, one of the only places where books can be browsed through.
The Human District[]
Contains the hotel that Caroline, Olala, Quanyii, Angelo and Ale stay at.
Lam's Shack[]
A shack belonging to Sir Lamorak in the warehouse district where the City Beneath stores its dry goods. A shack with an underwater entrance.
Capuchin's Shack[]
A wooden sheck a plot of soil by the docks belonging to Capuchin. It is full of natural traps made of plants, to protect Capuchin's privacy.
W.E.P Arena[]
Where Ale prize-fights to earn coin for the group. He wins dozens of fights in a row, and calls the rest of the fighters "pushovers".[9] Ale managed to win one round in under a minute. There was once a giant tree in the middle, but it was removed after it gave Ale too much of an advantage. The Wolf was banned from the arena for biting too hard, but was once a fighting champion there.[10] One of the security team is a bison in a tasteful suit.
The City Beneath[]

The monster Enoch and a Glass Leviathan
Art by Milo Mars
Where freshwater ocean-dwelling monsters live in a city made of coral buildings. It can be traversed by Glass Leviathan, a transparent monster that chairs have been put in. Glass Leviathans are also available for rent in air-breathing areas of the city.
Infrastructure[]
Wayward East Press[]
DOCTOR: Lawmakers aren’t the only ones who set the rules, are they?
The predominant publishing house of Silvershore. They have a monopoly on all books, and own several other types of entertainment as well. Will periodically "vault" books on certain topics for a few decades in order to artificially drive up demand. The next topic they plan to vault by recalling, destroying, and stealing every single copy is the Western Wastes. Their books are very well made, but incredibly expensive- they have been increasing their prices for years now. They are capable of putting out bounties on their competitors as well as unlicensed sellers of their books.
In order to increase demand for their books, W.E.P have banned all forms of communication outside of Silvershore. Talking about sending a letter outside Silvershore can get you in a lot of trouble, but there is a black market for this service. They also control Silvershore's border- for at least 200 years, attempting to exit Silvershore will have you end up back in the city with a coupon for 5% off any one book. In order to leave Silvershore, one must procure a form signed by the W.E.P Board of Directors, which is extremely difficult.[10]

The Protective Spirit of Silvershore[]
A baby made of crystal kept in a magically hidden room W.E.P Clocktower, only accessible when opening a door at the top of the tower when the clock strikes the hour.[3] The Universe created the spirit in order to make sure an invasion would never happen again.
Post-Invasion[]
Following the invasion of Silvershore by the Off-Worlders using aeroplanes, the majority of Silvershore was completely destroyed barring a small district used for inhabiting by Sir Galahad and his armada of knights. Many large magic-draining drills were built on the instruction from the Off-Worlders.[11] People who escaped via Glass Leviathan to the City Beneath are slowly starving and wasting away as all the fish die and magic is sapped fom the Universe. Becuase the Universe is made of magic, the ground itself is crumbling away to dust that forms duststorms.[12]

- The currency of Silvershore is called "coin" and consists of colored papers.[2] This could be a way of demonstrating the city's modernity compared to other regions of the Second Citadel world by having the currency be more similar to real-world money.
