The Center of the Universe is a location in the Tales of the Second Citadel. It is where the four regions of the Universe converge. It is currently uninhabited by humans and largely by monsters as well. In the generation before the Saints, it was once a magical place where many species of monster lived.
Climate[]
The area regularly changes climate between the four regions, and magically reflects what that area is currently like. It changes in the order East, West, North, South. When it looks like the West, the leaves change to be red and crunchy with autumnal weather, when it looks like the South, there are chilling blizzards and snow on the ground, when it looks like the North, there is summer weather with cicadas and birdsong. Presumably, the East once looked verdant and full of life as it once was,[1] but after the invasion of Silvershore and the Off-Worlders' use of magic draining machines, when the climate turns to the East all the water drains from the ocean and everything becomes a dried-up wasteland.[2] The climate used to change two or three times a day, but after the draining of magic in the East, the change occurs every 30 minutes. After the decisive battle against the Off-Worlders the climate begins to stabilise again, and only changes every few hours.[3]

The Center of the Universe is where the climactic battle between The Off-Worlders and the humans and monsters of the universe occurs. After the Off-Worlders are driven away, the fish-princess' palace crumbles to the ground.

Undersea Palace[]
Within the central sea, the palace which the fish princess from the story of the Saints originated from. It is where Saint Ferdinand's slingshot is rumored to be kept. It has tall seashell towers, and seems to have been abandoned for centuries. At its mouth is a long hallway with hundreds of suits of armor, all uniquely made for different monsters. The palace itself is made of crumbling stone and is currently lifeless. In the time between the Saints recieving the weapons from the fish princess and Saint Ferdinand returning, some great calamity befell the palace and it became barren and lifeless. Ferdinand theorises this is because the universe felt greatly disappointed in him and his brothers' actions.
Underneath the palace is a long and winding underground tunnel, the walls of which become more and more flesh-like deeper in. The walls of these tunnels are covered in glowing crystals that contain the Universes wonderings and hopes about a future where humans and monsters live together in peace. This tunnel ends in a cavern with a deep crevasse that leads into the heart of the Universe.
