The Thoughtsream is a deck of cards similar to real-life tarot cards. They were gifted to Olala by Sister Tiilei. They allow the user to sense the universe's thoughts and intentions.[1]
Use[]
Olala originally believes the thoughstream can see into the future, but in reality it can only see what the universe intends to be the future. It can be used to ask for guidance from the universe. This is useful to Olala, as she is the universe's favoured child.
The Thoughtstream can also be used to cross the Mirrored Plains. This is because the Mirrored plains let you see into the universe's emotions, and the thoughtstream lets you see the universes thoughts. Together, these combine into clarity and safetey from mind-shattering illusions.[2]
Structure[]
There are four suits: the Wastes, the Frosts, the Wilds, and the Mirrors. The suit of mirrors is known to "misbehave". Each suit has ten cards, with 2-9 numbered, 1 as the Ax, and 10 as the Parapet.
History[]
Olala is given the cards just before Tiilei is killed by Sir Galahad. She holds on to them as a gift throughout her many adventures.
She later uses them to pass through The Wayward East.
The cards guide her through the Fish-Princess' Palace in The Center of the Universe, but scatter along the water and guide Sir Absolon and The Hand straight to her.[3]
